03 February 2019 - Update

Since the campaign went live last week, Vanessa has been faced with yet another challenge. We need to urgently raise more funds and quickly. The lifesaving treatment that her doctors would like to try is not being covered by her medical aid. According to the medical aid Vanessa is not on the right plan to cover the cost! It is frustrating that they have the power to make a call on someone's life like this. She will need in excess of R800 000.00 to cover these costs. I don't know about you, but I am not about to allow a corporate have that kind of control over someone's life....

This treatment will give Vanessa a chance at beating this disease. It will give her children their mother, back and Vanessa a chance at LIFE! We need to get as many eyes on this campaign as possible, every small contribution will go a long way to easing the burden for Vanessa and her family. Once again, I humbly ask for your assistance and thank you for the love, support and care that so many have already shown Vanessa!

29 January

This is my beautiful sister, Vanessa van Zyl. She is mother to 11 year old Dylan and 2 year old Matthew. She is also wife to Thys, daughter to Manny and Linda and friend to many. Vanessa is a brave soul who has been battling cervical cancer for the last two years. Throughout this time she has made it her goal to get up, dress up and show up to every task in her life, be it as a mom and wife, to her job, or wherever she needs to be.... no matter how she felt.

In the last few months it has become harder for Vanessa to go about her daily life as fluid build up in her abdomen and lungs, and crippling pain makes it difficult to physically function. In addition to working on building up the courage to put one foot in front of the other, and trying to remain mentally strong, there is the added worry of the financial strain that this illness has placed on her family.

Vanessa has a huge mountain ahead of her as she is faced with more gruelling treatment. As one can imagine, not only are the medical bills piling up, but so are the family's day to day bills. It is an additional strain that I am hoping we can ease for them. :)

I am appealing for donations, no matter how big or small. Every bit counts and will make such a difference for Vanessa and her young family. I am hoping that with your help this will be one less worry on her mind, and she will be able to work on being mentally strong, so she can physically fight this disease.

All Vanessa wants is her life back so that she can continue to be the best possible mom for her boys!

All thoughts and prayers for a full recovery would also be most welcome.

Thank you! Your help will mean so much more than you could ever imagine!
