Welcome to our fundraising page. The Alliance for Water and Sanitation Revolution in Africa is procuring 100 household filters to be distributed to 100 households at Oduman, Akraman and Nsumia in the Ga West Municipal Assembly of the Greater Accra region in order to help eradicate the menace of water borne diseases in these areas as a result of drinking and cooking with unsafe water from the Nsaki river and river densu respectively.

The Alliance comprises of water, sanitary and environmental engineers, consultants and advocates. It was established in 2014 and duly incorporated in June, 2015.

It is anticipated that the donation of household water filters will be given to the beneficiaries on credit basis with 0% interest. When they completed payment, the money will be used to procure another 100 filters for another set of 100 households until 1000 households are reached in 30 months. Payment period by installment is 3 months. The amount per filter is $50. They will pay $17 per month.

The first presentation of the filters is expected to take place by end of November, 2018 in the community durbar ground and key stakeholders especially the donors to the project will be invited to be present.

Lack of access to clean water is a problem in these areas. Treated water being sold far away in town is too expensive and residents are not able to afford. Even the sachet water is $0.10 and so most are not able to afford thereby resorting to drinking and cooking with water direct from the polluted Nsaki river.

The Alliance shall bear the cost of organising, registering, monitoring and evaluating of the project, train volunteers to collect repayments and be changing the cartridges of the filter for free.

Lack of access to clean water and sanitation facilities in some parts of Ghana poses serious health hazards to the poor especially Women, Girls and Children. Since 2001, Ghana has recorded over twenty thousand cases of Cholera. Your quota is highly needed to enable us make this project a success.
