Prolimb LLC specialized in manufacturing smart upper limb prosthetics
and orthotics, it was established in 2016 and located in Cairo, Egypt. Prolimb has been responsible for several
innovations in prosthetics and orthotics industries include using
Digital Fabrication and Artificial Intelligence for manufacturing a fully articulated smart robotic hand
prosthesis.



The mk1 hand is a fully articulated smart robotic hand prosthetics,
It’s controlled by built-in electrodes to detect electromyography signals
“Myo Powered”, which detects the movements of the user's remaining arm muscles and
interpret them using Artificial Intelligence software. It can be custom fitted for each user.


In the last twenty years, the market for prosthetic arms and hands has shifted towards systems with greater degrees of actuation.
There is a great progressive use of emerging technologies to overcome hardware design challenges.
This proliferation of rapid prototyping has resulted in applications in the prosthetic market.
The affordable and customizable solution offered by rapid prototyping,
combined with the possibility for easy maintenance and repair, is very attractive for prosthesis design.



The intelligent prosthesis shows better bio-imitability and adaptability than the conventional prosthesis
by automatically regulating its parameters according to environments and working requirements.
The intelligence of the upper limb prosthesis is mainly embodied in the control ability of automatic
adaptation to the object's shape and forces when grasping it.



For upper-limb amputees, myoelectric-controlled prostheses offer the ultimate combination of function and natural appearance.
Designed to mimic human anatomy and motion, electronic components are the closest alternative to an anatomical hand or arm.
A myoelectric prosthesis uses the existing muscles in your residual limb to control its functions.
One or more sensors fabricated into the prosthetic socket receive electrical signals when you intentionally engage specific muscles in your residual limb.
