My name is Paweł. My wife, Magda, our daughter, Ada and I need your help.
We don't have much money, nor living space to properly raise Ada and provide for her needs. I want to change this by jump-starting my IT career with an available Front-end Developer bootcamp. The cost of the bootcamp is beyond our financial capacity, and the state won't help us.
Please, help us by donating to our campaign, or at least sharing it with your friends.

Who are we? (Our Story)

My name is Pawel. I was born prematurely on February 4, 1986, in Lublin, Poland. Premature birth, obsolete hospital equipment and primary open-angle glaucoma caused me to loose my left eye, and damaged right one. This handicap, altrough not as bad as some, made my life and the lives of my family a bit harder. My wife, Magda, was born on February 19, 1984. We met (with the help of a mutual friend) in early 2011 and almost immediately fell in love. We got married on May 23, 2015, in Garwolin, where we live.

Exactly a year later, our daughter, Ada, was born. Ada also has primary open-angle glaucoma, but thanks to more modern equipment and immediate treatment, her sight was saved. She also has hypotonia - a low muscle tone - which means that she doesn't walk or crawl yet. Now, we live in a small apartment in a small town, and no solid possibilities for change. We hope that you can help.

Our situation.

Magda holds a master's degree in Polish philology and also a bachelor's degree in library and information studies. Unfortunately, there are at least one hundred thousand other people with these same degrees, which makes her skills not very marketable.

I have tried for a degree three times, in Iberian philology, family studies and English philology, but I have failed for various reasons (my poor eyesight was part of it). Because of my sight I can't perform any jobs with heavy machinery, can't drive a car, or even work as a store clerk.

I need to obtain a skillset that is in suitable demand if we have a hope of improving our situatin, but this takes money that we simply don't have. I receive a disability pension of 1339 polish zloty, which is about 345 U.S. Dollars. Due to pensions not being considered as income, the state gives us an additional 500PLN (about 129USD) for Ada. That means we make due with 1839PLN or about 475USD per month. We pay rent, which is 670PLN (173USD), and have 200PLN (51USD) in various bills.

This leaves us with 969PLN (about 250USD) per month, and we spend almost everything on food, medicines (for me and Ada), and clothes for Ada. Almost everything we have, we find, or we buy second-hand, or receive from our extended family.

Our goal.

To improve our situation, I'll need a skillset that is in demand in Poland. According to research, there are at least 50,000 avaible positions in the IT field that for whatever reason can't presently be filled. One of the more popular of these skills is front-end development - that involves making a presentable and interactive website. This is also my target position, at least for the forseable future. Unfortunately, the bootcamp for learning these skills costs 5871PLN (you can find it here: https://coderstrust.pl/portfolio/nasze-kursy).

The 5871PLN translates to 1528USD, which is beyond our means to save up. It also takes six months to finish. Yet we ask for more than that. We ask for 3000USD, which is 11526PLN. We ask because we want to improve our situation as soon as possible.

Some of this should be used to make myself presentable for job interviews following the bootcamp, as well. We also would like to be able to pay for swimming lessons for Ada, which is intended to help with her motor skills and muscle tone. We'd like to afford some toys for her, and more nourishing food.

I don't like to ask for a handout. The fact is, we struggle on each day. We scrape by, but we'd like better for our daughter, than we've had to endure. I think this is fair, for parents to wish for a better life for their children.

We'd also like to be able to pay our necessary taxes, which amount to 1423PLN or 371USD. But, the main goal is to give me marketable skills that will enable me to provide for my family. That's what we need.

Please help us to achieve our goal by either donating to our campaign or sharing it with your friends. Also, if you feel there is some solution we may have overlooked, please tell us about it. We are open to suggestions, too.

Thank you, for your time.
