Once, I was a Brain Tumor survivor, yet, again

I almost died at birth, undergone SRS, it's my 3rd life as of this moment. But, I believe, the fourth one is coming nearer. God is not yet done with me. Thus, I am writing this letter of request to knock in your humble hearts to find the reason and will to give me the chance to live another life.

"I need you like water, like breathe, like rain, I need you like mercy from heavens gate. There's a freedom in your arms that carries me through, I need you!" Your support, your funds, your love, your care, your enthusiasm, your encouragement, your donations and above all else our God and your prayers.

My name is Ysrah Irish D. Ongkingco, a 21 year old 4th year college student taking up BAPSY Minor in SpEd in Miriam College, Quezon City.

Once again, at my current age (21), I'm diagnosed of NF2 with Bilateral Vestibular Schwannomas (Brain Tumor) per my Neurosurgeon (Dr. Willy G. Lopez) and need of ASAP surgery.

An increased in sized of the tumor was recognized 3.3cm based on the MRI results I had taken last month. And, it was said that this time we cannot assume what could possibly be taken from my body function. Unlike for my first surgery, I lost my hearing capacity, so it's really risky this time on. Since, my right eye as of this moment is also "naduduling," and was adviced to wear an eye patch to avoid the trigger. The nerves where my brain tumor is located (R), keep weakening.

The first time I was diagnosed was at the age of (8) grade 5 , it was also my first time undergoing such beautiful life threatening event, the Stereotactic Radio Surgery. I was diagnosed with a deadly disease and life threatening challenge, Brain Tumor.

As a result, I became part of the DHH community (Deaf and Hard of Hearing) and had bell's palsy (R) as well. It was difficult to adapt and adjust, but I cannot do anything, all I can do that time was acknowledge it. I lost hope, I faced depression, I struggled everyday, I cried to myself everyday in the corner of my room, can you visualized how would that feel? I only had a 20% chance of surving. There was no 3rd options at all. I was only given to chose whether to undergone a surgery or die. During those times, dying at that age would be very difficult, many questions pops up in my mind. Can you even entagled to visualized how I was? I was just a little girl, wanting her parents to buy her stufftoys and chocolates. But I have to choose, I have to choose, that's all I can do.

Thereby, I undergone the SRS surgery. I was really glad I did, I am still alive right! I survived. Whatmore, God showed me His testament and He showed me Himself too with His only son, Jesus Christ. He smiled when I was on the death bed of the operating room. And, you know what came to my mind that time, instead of continiously losing hope, I know I'd survive! With God all things are possible! ~Matthew 19:26
