On Line Television via Internet

            My name is Ede Foris and I'm the co-founder of Softer Cloud company. Our company offers various data center and IT system integration services since 1988.  To develop our services and client portfolio  we started a new project named HedexTv which will offer on line television content, video on demand, and video social portal to our customers. Our wish is that a family join together nearby HedexTv and could be able to watch preferred movie, upload their video, and socialize through the social plugin of our  webportal      Through this campaign we would like to get enough founds to step to the next level of our project from testing phase to commercial launch.     With the help of contributors we want to increase the power of the servers, pay the access rights to content owners and invest in Roku players for those customers who are interested to access our platform using a device connected to a TV set instead of watching the content through a smart phone or a tablet. Beside that we need to pay a Content Network Delivery fee which will allow that the customers will have seamless connection without interruption wherever they are.     

What We Need & What You Get    

The founds we are requesting are needed to cover the expenses to step from the "Testing" level to a "Commercial" level. In practice we have to increase the server farms, we have to buy new servers, power supplies, extra internet and storage, VmWare software to extend it to the new servers, new Wowza session licenses and speciffic video MPEG converters.  We are dealing with several content providers like AXN, CBS, TIME WARNER, DISNEY CHANNEL, HBO, NGC, DISCOVERY, etc. to get the distribution rights for the content. As we described earlier our wish is that the HedexTV portal to be used by the whole family or between friend; we want that the users upload their movies and share it between them. Another important thing is that we can offer commercial space for those who are interested.     

The main perks are:     

 - we are testing this kind of service more than 6 months so if we know what we need.        

 - The web portal already exists it can be seen at www.hedex.tv      

 -We have already a technical, a designer and a supervising team who knows what they have to do.      

 -We had already contracted 2 broadband Internet connection on optical fiber having a BGP connection.      

 -We already invested 22 000$ in equipment and complementary services during the service testing, we are sure that this project will go.      

 -Subscribers will watch the preferred movies or shows on TV or a mobile device (tablet or smart phone)      

  -The service is compatible with Windows, IOS and Android operating system capable devices.        In that case we didn't reach the entire goal we will invest the founds firstly in hardware and after that in software, depending of the amount will have at our disposition, but we will keep continuing.        

     The Impact

     Most of the content providers are not family oriented, it means that they are offering an access environment which is not quite simple or children oriented. Our point of view is that the HedexTv platform should bring together the parents with the children, the young with older and friends together. Our platform have a social plugin too where the subscribers can write their impressions, can share their video and talk about it with other participants, in a few word  our platform will bring people around its core. It is somehow different no other platform are doing entirely this. It is like the Youtube or Vimeo but the difference is that the subscribers can watch legal on-line content or video on demand. If we reach our funding goal we can offer a different entertainment, an on-line service environment through HedexTv which will be like a mix between Netflix, Youtube and Facebook.  On the web page and the Roku aplication we will offer commercial places to those who are interested. The commercials can be static or can be movies, we can play them independently or at the beginning of the contents. We thought about schools or collages or other communities who wants to have their television channel to be streamed around the world they will have the chance with us. We can offer them the technical background to be seen over web and the Roku platform.                                                                                                                            We want that our service to be liked by people. We build the concept starting from what we really wanted to have in our household.          

         Risks & Challenges    

        As in many business, in the HedexTv project we can encounter some hurdles, one of them could be that the content providers are requesting a higher fee per subscriber.                                            It means that until we reach the first 500 active users the difference of the requested amount must be payed from "pocket". After we step over the 2000 users the studios usually renegotiates the fees/subscribers. To solve this hurdle we have to make a good marketing promotion to gain as much as possible subscribers. As we calculated after the first 3 month we can reach the critical 500 subscribers. We want to rich 2000 subscriber in the first 6 months.                             Another challenge will be to accustom the people to use the Roku players to reach their favorite movies or shows. It will take a little time, but we think that if we can give some extra promotions for those who are taking our services through Roku platform instead of classic web page.                                                                                                                                                            One of the other hurdle could be that the subscribers are not satisfied with the content we offer, or at least at he beginning.  We have to inform them that this project is a growing one and keep them as an active subscriber and if the requests are claimed by more subscribers we will do the needed movements.                                                                                                                              Some of customers have many TV sets or many mobile devices in the households and are requesting access to all of them. The system we designed is that it accepts only one device per user to avoid the fraud. In some circumstances we  can give free access or for a small forfeit sum, access to this family.     This kind of service is suitable for small or middle motels, hotels or hostels. Maybe we will have requests for other type of fees. We will handle every request individually to find out the right price.  Other Ways You Can Help           For those people who can't contribute but they think that our project is an interesting one we will be pleased if they can send other people to subscribe to our HedexTv.
