On A Pilgrimage to the Holy Land
I cannot believe it, but it’s happening and it is happening soon! Many of you may not be aware of the new journey I’ve embarked on this last September. After many years of waiting and seeking God for direction in regards to whether I should pursue a Master’s Degree or not, the Lord has opened a door for me to pursue a degree in Christian Leadership at Asbury Theological Seminary. I am now deep into a couple of courses, and I am making preparations for three more this upcoming semester. God has been faithful in making it possible and in providing financially as He sees fit for me to pursue this degree.
But that’s not the only door God has opened up for me to walk through. You see, the large double doors that God has opened at Asbury Seminary has led me to another door the Holy Spirit is compelling me to walk through. That door leads to the Holy Land! God willing, on February 10-19th of 2016 I will be going overseas for 10 days to Israel to walk the land of Jesus and the Bible. Specifically, I will be visiting the places where Jesus’ life and ministry took place, from Bethlehem to the empty tomb. This is a three credit hour course that one of my teachers, Dr. Bob Tuttle Jr., will be teaching.
After seeking advice from The Lord, my wife, and close friends, I am convinced that even though the window is short and I don’t have a year to prepare that I am supposed to follow HIS lead and go. I can’t tell you how excited I am, and I wish I could tell you all of the ways that I’ve received confirmation to move forward. I hope I will have that opportunity some time soon.
I am reaching out to you with this letter to ask for your prayers and for your financial support. Pray for me to be able to take in this experience and that I would encounter God and His Scripture in a new way and with eyes wide open. The cost of the trip is $3,228. Would you prayerfully consider giving to help me offset the cost? Anything you can give will be greatly appreciated.
Thank you for taking the time to read this and for praying for me! I appreciate you more than you know.
