INTRODUCTION

My name is Thandu Makeleni, I\'m a social entrepreneur from Johannesburg (South Africa). My journey started in the coffee industry/hospitality in 2013 as a co-owner of HEI Cafe in Braamfontein Johannesburg. Since then I\'ve toiled at Coffee roasters (Barista/Manager), restaurants (Waiter), bars (Barman) between Cape Town, Port Elizabeth and Johannesburg and I\'ve owned a food stall and bistro. I have also recently collaborated with a few chefs in a pop up restaurant in Maboneng (Johannesburg).

The above container (Roast republic) is my work place, which is being sold for R280 000 (everything inclusive). I\'ve been running the space alone for almost a year now.

My desire is to takeover the above space and add a mobile food truck next to the coffee container and \'partner not employ\', with a Chef and an accounting graduate and operate the business together.

My reason to seek partnership, is to help increase employment and reduce the number of unemployed graduates, whom are at home wondering how they will pay their student loans.

Instead of having sole proprietorship, these are the times were partnerships are necessary, as entrepreneurs apart from creating employment it\'s also our responsibility to lift as many people as we can out of the poverty line by \"sharing our entrepreneurial skills, and teaching people to be job creators not only job seekers\".

The container is situated in a office building (business location), it has about 500 (tenants) whom mostly work for Arena Holdings (My patrons) and we\'ve been struggling to capture the majority of this market, due to limited food offerings and not having an onsite kitchen (mobile food trailer).

The food was sourced from the central kitchen (Pre-made and packed) and the food delivery was not daily, the reason was to control food wastage, but this also lead to us losing customer confidence, because the food items they wanted would be sold out by the time they order. The inability to be consistent in food offering was bad for business!

At best the container used to turnover R60 000 a month and a low of R32 000 a month and we operated only 20 days a month.

The mobility of the food trailer will enable us to do catering events and food markets on weekends (second income generating stream for the business), as the office building is empty over that period.

The concept I want to introduce once we\'ve taking over the space, is a social franchise.

It\'s called On My Grind (OMG) Cafe.

OMG Cafe is a social franchise. After a year of successful operations in running the above business, we plan on incubating a group consisting of three OMG Social Cafe potential co-owners (same ownership structure proposed above). An Accounting graduate, Chef and Entrepreneur. We will partner with Private companies, Non Profit organisations and Government institutions to source funding for them after the incubation period/process.

Once they\'ve successfully completed their incubation and attained funding, they\'ll open their own OMG Cafe.

My over all vision as a Social Entrepreneur is to observe the needs of my community and to satisfy those needs by creating employment, skills development and to give back in a way that will be sustainable for years to come.

There\'s more detail as to how certain aspects (e.g profitability) of this social enterprise concept will be achieved, but I can\'t communicate business strategy and competitive advantages on my crowd-fund pitch!

So more information can be obtained on the above concept and business upon request and I\'d be more than willing to explain further, if you are interested in seeing this vision become a reality!

Thank you for taking the time to read my plea and I appreciate any and every contribution or donation.

Please don\'t hesitate to contact me, my details are available on the platform.
