Olympic Dreams

We, Cameron, Brenden, Anandt and Carissa are 4 of South Africa's top swimmers aiming to represent our country at the 2024 Paris Olympics. In order to prepare for the South African Olympic trials in April 2024, we need to attend the FINA World Cup series taking place in Europe from 6-22 October 2023. The competitions will take place in Berlin, Budapest, and Athens.

Racing at these competitions will give us the best chance to qualify for the Olympics as racing against the best in the world will get us to the level we need to be.

Our coach, Douglas Erasmus, an Olympic swimmer, works tirelessly to support us in achieving our dreams. Whether it be being next to the pool for hours coaching us, spending late nights writing up our upcoming swim sets or just being concerned when we aren’t feeling well, Doug is there through it all. He is one of the vital components in the high-performing machine that makes up the athletes that we are. Without him, we wouldn’t have the ability to dream as big as we do.

Funds raised on this platform will be used to fund our travel, accommodation, and food expenses. We are 4 swimmers sharing a common dream, to represent our country at the Olympic Games. Hard work, dedication and sacrifice is a daily routine for us. We will appreciate any support you are willing to give. As Hellen Keller once said, “Alone we can do so little, together we can do so much”.
