Oliver’s Angels

On May 7, 2010 my son was diagnosed with Biliary Atresia, a rare liver disease that affects the bile ducts of the liver. Carson was so sick, yet it took us the first 4 months of his life to get it through to the doctors where we live that we were concerned. We spent several long months at Vanderbilt Children's Hospital, undergoing lots of tests to diagnose what exactly was wrong with my precious baby. After they confirmed Biliary Atresia he underwent a Kasai procedure, but we were told that his poor liver was much to scarred and they were afraid it just couldnt function... So Carson was listed for liver transplant. But because of his small size at 7-8 pounds and his rare blood type (B+) we made the tough decision to have a live liver transplant. Carson Oliver received a portion of my liver on July 21, 2010! Our journey has been long, hard, and faith testing... But I wouldnt change a mintue of it for the world, because this is the journey that God has planned for us. Carson still has lots of troubles with enzyme levels, viruses, immunosuppression, and EBV, but he is the toughest person on Earth and He never lets his amazing smile leave his beautiful little face...

Carson has tons of doctor appointments and medicine that it is very hard for us to afford. Just one of his clinic appointments costs over $200.00 and his insurance doesnt cover the entire amount. And it sure doesnt cover the gas it take to drive the 2 hours to his doctor in the first place. I am unemployed, so my husband is the only one of us working so it is extremely hard to afford everything it take to keep up Carson's health. Any help is deeply appreciated! :)

Also, every penny that is donated that does not go directly towards Carson will go straight to the American Liver Foundation to hekp support people just like my little Carson.
