Manchester Metropolitan University-Cheshire Campus in partnership with The Reporters Academy, Rob Young Consultancy and Sportsworld have launched the Vanuatu Cyclone Pam 2015 appeal to provide support to families and athletes affected by the immensely destructive cyclone in the Pacific. Cyclone Pam has caused a major humanitarian crisis, with multiple fatalities having been confirmed and more than 100,000 people urgently need first aid, shelter, healthcare and clean water. Oceania Sport Alliance UK have been a friend of the islands since 2008 with the Beach Volleyball, Athletics and Table Tennis team using the facilities and calling Cheshire East their home running up to and during the London 2012 Olympic Games and Glasgow Commonwealth Games.
What will the funding be used for?
We hope to support those athletes and families to get back on track after losing their property and all their possessions. Funding will also aid in the clean up at the sporting venues to allow the athletes to get back to training for the up and coming Pacific Games, Rio Olympic Games and the 2017 Pacific Mini Games that will be hosted in Vanuatu.
Please help us to raise some funds for this important cause.
