Oaxaca, MX School Abroad

Who: My daughter is a Eureka High School senior from Eureka, CA and the Spanish Program is taking a few selected students to go to school abroad over the 2013 summer. In order to be considered for this trip she had to write an essay, be evalutated by four teachers, and be at a specific Spanish speaking level. Now she must raise $2,100 to go on this trip. My husband and I earn enough money to support us, but since she is planning to go to an expensive college and we don't make a lot of extra money she needs help raising money in order to go to school abroad. 

What: She is going to Oaxaca, MX to study at a university over the summer. She will be able to expand her Spanish speaking skills, learn about the amazing culture, learn how to live away from home, and expand her horizons. 

When: She is going on this trip over the summer of 2013 before she heads off to college. 

Where: The colonial city of Oaxaca, MX

Why: She wants to go in order to experience life in another country, she wants to learn about the culture, go to school in another country before heading off to college, and expand her Spanish speaking skills because she hopes to be fluent in Spanish by the time she graduates college.
