NZ Adventure for Children’s Charities

   *This is registered as an ongoining campaign because paypal has a 60 day limit from the first day of setting up the page, however funds recieved will be transferred to the charities and this site closed February 1, 2013.

 

In January 2013 I will do a supported bicycle ride from the Northern most part of New Zealand to the Southern tip.  This ride will take around three weeks.  I will have some help from friends.

One of whom is my good friend Gary R. Gowers from St. Louis, Missouri in the U.S. It will be his is first time in New Zealand. Gary is going to do some cycling and trekking to do his bit for charity.

 Other friends may ride with me for sections of the ride.  I will also have car support for some parts of the ride.  No, I won't be in the car, but it will carry some supplies.

 I will ride the whole way.  

The trip is over 2000 kilometers / 1200 miles.  I aim to raise $50,000 dollars in total.  Around $2000 - $4000 of this will cover bike, the support car and camping costs.

  We will try to keep spending as low as possible.  We will stay with friends or at campgrounds. We will sell any equipment (including bike) we buy for the trip and donate the money to the charities.  

If we are lucky enough to be sponsored by a bike shop and / or car hire firm then our costs will decrease significantly.   

If this is the case all extra money will go to charity.  

We will be putting video and photographs of the trip and scenic New Zealand online.
