Nuz’s volunteer trip

I am passionate about the environment and do everything I can to reduce my foot print. I am vegan, I recycle & reuse and I love volunteer work! Up until now I have only had the opportunity to volunteer locally; packaging food with FMSC, the Humane Society and picking up trash in my community. But I have come across the opportunity of a life time! So I am raising money to volunteer with Green Lion for four weeks over summer break and $3,000 will cover my entire trip. I want to go to Bali in Indonesia and volunteer on the sea turtle conservation project on the small island of Nusa Penida in June 2020; PLEASE help me make this a reality!

As a volunteer on the Turtle Conservation project I will have the opportunity to help protect the endangered sea turtles of Indonesia with the goal of increasing the turtle population within the area of Nusa Penida. I will have the unique opportunity to have a hands-on role in caring for the turtles housed at the conservation center; feeding and cleaning the turtles and the equipment and I will participate in beach clean ups and improvements to waste management.

I am also looking forward to visiting Southeast Asia as that is my ethnic heritage and I can't wait to explore my own culture that I feel so detached from; this will no doubt be the most meaningful experience of my short life but could quite possibly be the most memorable experience of my life!
