I have just been accepted into Duke's Nursing program for the Fall of 2014. I was so excited, unitl I realized that I am about $45,000 short to pay for tuition. I am just trying to raise enough money to pay for Fall semesters tuition which is about 20,000. I did get a good amount of scholarship money, but I cannot get the loans to pay the rest of the tuition. I am running out of options, and this is my last resort. Over the years, my mother has been a single-parent trying to support the entire household on her own, but her credit is not good enough for her to co-sign for me. I am only 19 years old; I do not have credit to get a student loan. I am taking full time summer pre-requesites for Duke, so I do not have a job to pay for school either. My dream has always been to become a nurse, and improve the lives around me. When I was ten, my brother was hit by a car, and passed away shortly after. His death devistated my family, but has heavily influenced my dream to become a nurse. I want to do what I can to help people and give back to the world. I am a hard working student, I went to school at UNC for two years. All I want to do is finish my schooling at Duke; I only have a year and a half left to get my Bachelors in Nursing.
