Hello, I'm fundraising for hip surgeries. I will try to keep this as short as possible.
I started having worsening pain in my about a year and a half ago. It kept getting worse and worse. Finally I saw an Orthopedic Doctor, who ordered MRIs and X-Rays and referred me to someone else, that surgeon reviewed the imaging and referred me to yet another person because he had no experience with the type of surgery I needed. SURGERY? WHAT?.... When I saw the sports medicine surgeon he explained I had femoroacetabular impingement (FAI) which he described as congenital, my hip bone and thigh bone made extra bone, and are irregular in shape, and since they do not fit together perfectly they rub against each other and cause inflammation, excruciating pain, loss of cartilage and early osteoarthritis in my hip. I need arthroscopic hip surgery and cartilage replacement. This will be quite expensive since the surgeon said he wants to operate on both hips 6 to 8 weeks apart. We plan to have surgeries done in 4-6 months.
I have been very sad because I have lost some independence. I need help with showers, putting socks on, getting out of the car, and even getting up from a seated position. I cannot sit too long or stand for long periods. Work is become difficult and I can't imagine that. I need to be 100% for the residents I serve.
Any donations will go:
- Surgeon, anesthesiologists and the Facility fees
- Physical therapy
- Occupational therapy
- Any inpatient stay if the outpatient procedure
Any donations and/or shares are welcome, I just want my independence back and I want to be pain free, if you can help with that I am forever grateful
