Nuchie’s Kidney Transplant

    Calvenua, better known as Nuchie, is a Mother, a wife, a sister, an aunt, a cousin, and a friend, that found out that she has kidney failure. She entered the hospital to receive a fistula for dialysis in December of 2010. Unexpected medical problems occurred, and slowed down her recovery until, June of 2011. She returned home, a new woman, with new hair, new skin, and a new job (Disability).

     As everything happened so fast for Nuchie, she kept her head up and adjusted to her new life. She was a very dedicated, hard worker, employed by Koinonia, formally known as Phoenix Residential Center, in Cuyahoga County. Losing her job was devastating, financially and emotionally. She had accumulated numerous friendships, for over 26 years, while working there, and now makes new friends at dialysis, 3-4 hours a day, 3 times a week, for the rest of her life, unless she receives a kidney transplant.

   Nuchie is currently in line, to be added to the list, for a kidney transplant at Cleveland Clinic. She will need to be financially prepared to pay for any medications that are not covered by her insurance, at the time of such said emergency surgery. All funds will go towards Nuchies kidney transplant medications, and recovery. With your help, she will continue to live as a mother, a wife, a sister, an aunt, a cousin, and a friend.
