Novella volunteers in Ghana

Hello to you my divine helper,

I am due to go to Ghana at the end of February to volunteer in a maternity home- Maranatha Maternity Clinic, Kumasi.During this time, I will be working closely with registered midwives to guide, protect and aid a woman throughout her pregnancy, labour and birth.

These mother's are not fortunate enough to have a system like the NHS care for their every need, no matter their socio-economic status. I will work hand in hand with the midwives to provide women centered care for these woman- whom some found themselves pregnant as a result of abuse.

There are also sad cases in which children are left orphaned due to maternal death and parental neglect. I will be working with these children teaching them basic life skills and indulging in activities that will stimulate their learning including singing, dancing, drama and other similar activities.

As you may know, volunteering abroad can be very costly so I am humbly asking all my friends, family and anyone this touches, to sponsor me with anything over £5.
