Campaign Story
Philona is originally from Cap-Haitien and was orphaned at a young age. As a teenager she moved to Port-au-Prince to live with an aunt. Philona has strived to be self-sufficient most of her life, learning how to make various items (jewelry, sandals, and clothing) to take care of herself and to pay for her schooling.
Noah is from Kenscoff, Haiti. After high school, he studied at a university in Port-au-Prince. Unfortunately Noah was not able to finish his schooling, due to the financial hardship it placed on his family. Noah unselfishly put his educational dreams on hold and started looking for gainful employment to help his family. Noah recognized with 10 children in a family, it wasn't easy for his parents to pay for his education. Since 2012, Noah has worked for Chances for Children, an organization that works to provide orphan care and to provide care for children and strengthen communities in Kenscoff and many other places in Haiti.
