Hello from the Owens Family!!
We are recently married with a 9 year old daughter. We live in Odessa, Texas where the oil feild boom has skyrocketed the housing market. For the last five years this has been fine because we were grandfathered into a nice rental property for 790 a month. Then this year our landlord tells us to basically buy or get out. Her asking price for the 700 sq foot house was 80,000 not something me or my husband could come up with in the 2 months she gave us. We own a struggling roofing company, (West Texas has also had a drought over the last few years, several big roofing company's out here have already gone under.), living from small job to small job. Due to this fact, we decided to buy a trailer and put it on our businesses land instead. We thought this was going to be a small under taking. It is not. The city has decided they want to be very involved in transition. They want parking spaces put in, and new poles to be set up, skirting to be put on, and other misc. items to be done. Because of these delay's by the city we are unable to riside in our home. So now me and my husband sleep on a couch and a cot and my daughter sleeps next to me, in an office, in a old metal building. We take cold showers and eat mostly microwavable food. We are making the best of this bad situation, working on what we can when we can. But we need your help. I make custom wood work designs and I am willing to make each and every person that finds it in their heart to help our family out!
