No one can do it alone

As I write this statement, I sit in my college’s library preparing to study for the upcoming chemistry midterm, I’ve already chosen an art piece by a local gallery to write about for my art appreciation class, and I’m also re-reading and editing a 10 page essay I’ve written on how big pharma is bulldozing our health and sanity, Just for this semester. All the while learning to play piano well enough to please my perfectionist self and achieve that grade I need desperately to keep me on this fragile track of balance and effort in order to get to where I need to go; to get to that version of myself in which through my education I’ve liberated my mind, my body and soul to help others around me, like me and not like me, by inspiring them with the notion that anything you dream of is not only possible, but certainly achievable. I know living in today’s world we have grown to be quite distant and removed from one another, and it has felt especially difficult at times being the independent young 19 year old girl I was when I returned to the country I was born in. When I first arrived after nearly 19 years away, I did what any young foreigner would do, I buckled down and looked for jobs anywhere I could think of. Eventually I was hired at a wonderful retail store known as Victoria’s Secret and have been diligently working there now for 2 years, as well as going to school full time. I am now at the beginning of the end however, and will be going to university next fall, if all goes as planned hopefully I will be going to UCSD. This is the pivotal reason for which I am reducing my pleads for help to crowd-source funding, because to be honest, all I have is you. I don’t have family who can help me reach my goal, only myself and unfortunately the way society has been designed, it’s very difficult for a young independent full time employee and student to manage and not worry about groceries for the week. I need your help to be able to help others, and all I want to do -my dying passion- is to help enable people in whatever ways I can, like you can help enable me.
