Campaign Story
As you all know there are only a couple months of summer, and then it is back to school. For many kids they will go home to an empty house and for many parents they will be going broke trying to work and pay for an after school program just so they can work to provide for their families. I would really love to raise enough money to rent a Safe Space for after school that is FREE for all kids.
They will have a Safe Space to be after school until the evening. Also, in this Safe Space they will get the opportunity to explore their crafty side, learning different painting techniques as well as other arts and crafts. Molding clay, beginners drawing, and jewelry making to name a few. As well as having help with their homework and behavioral skills. Eventually, I would like to be able to incorporate a music group for any of the kids who would like to particiapte. I believe that every individual has a special gift and I would truly love to be able to help the children of my community embrace and perfect their special gift. No matter if it is being artsy or brainy or musically inclined.
Yes, there are boys and girls clubs and a couple other after school programs, but they are not free for everyone and it can get a little expensive. I believe with help I can create a really awesome place that the kids AND parents will love.
I would like to raise enough money to be open for next school year as somewhat of a "trial run" for the program. I am fully confident that in a few short months of having the doors open we will begin to see donations from parents, teachers and more people in the community and eventually have a year round Safe Space for kids from all backgrounds and financial situations.
