Refugee No borders

They say home is where the heart is, but what happens when your heart is connected to your homeland and you are forced to leave in order to protect yourself and your family? Especially the families leaving their homes in Venezuela... Over the past months I have met a lot of Venezuelan Families in Peru trying to restart the lives they once had, but most are met with hostility and a lack of support. This led me to a path of helping these families in their times of need through our family hostel, strictly to provide relief, the hostel was made in 1970 where my grandmother has lived her whole life but after seeing the crisis we wanted to do something to help..

What are the donations for?
The hostel provides a temporary home and support to allow Venezuelan families to get back on their feet. The program I have created is in two steps and begins with a 2-Week Integration period and then a 6-Week Family Life Development period. Once in-processed through the city office and into the hostel, families are provided with a room in the hostel that will have 4 beds, 3 - hot meals a day and clothing. During the 2-Week Integration period families are given the chance to relax, recuperate and spend time together in a more peaceful and supportive environment. This is important to decrease the stressors of moving and allow for each member of the family to find a semblance of peace of mind in their new environment. Once settled in, the families will begin their 6-Week Family Life Development period, which includes resume building and job searching for adults and young adults, education, daycare and school supply for their children.

I understand that trust is to be earned and being that this is not an NGO, there may be some that will have second thoughts on donating, but I would like to reassure you that donations come in many shapes and forms, such as money (PayPal, Facebook Page and clothing, and food, as well as any items you can donate to help these families. I hope you will help this cause, for your contribution will help families get their footing to continue on with their new lives in Peru - their new home.
