Ever heard about Volvo T6 powered Nissan 200sx s14? I believe not & so was I until my roads crossed with this wonderful Japanese drift missile- bare naked shell it was. I didn't blink any eye I dived in to buy this main piece of a car immediately to fulfill one of my childhood dreams...

Here it was in all of its glory, missing engine and almost anything else except front & rear axle what I was able to buy extra from seller. 2017 it was....

Main question raised immediately: What engine should I use to power it up? Due to lack of availability of Nissan SR engines in Estonia and Baltic states alternative had to be generated. Let's also don't forget about our salary in this country which will limit our choices drastically so LS swaps etc. where off the table ASAP. So how I will power up my new project and boom, suddenly appeared a quy who offered twin turbo Volvo b6284t engine ripped off from decent family sedan Volvo S80. Serious 200 Viking kW's it is and let’s not forget about potential it has packed in it- there is a reason why it's called Swede 2JZ. In case if you are still wondering why I call this project 280SX is because engine was ripped from Volvo S80 & will be planted on 200sx. :D

Because I wanted to do whatever I want with the car, build my systems to suit with my vision, building A streetcar was off the table immediately. Chassis got my first attention- had to patch up all holes digged in over the years by rust-worms.

If this was accomplished, I was able to proceed on next step, Roll cage. Well, this was a story alone to be honest and lasted basically on year to get it done properly. To make it more complicated, there had to be 3D drawing from roll cage sitting inside 3d car interior model. To scan whole interior inside with special equipment was expensive as hell so I decided to use photogrammetry to generate model I need. Of course, this alone tooked approx. 3 months to make. Finally, I had it in my hand with roll cage drawings & was able to start with fabrication.

This was not a first time when I was building a roll cage from scratch, so a lot of things where made based on my experience, witch by the way was still deficient :D. So, I built up my life's second monkey cage and still ended up with pile of mistakes. I called in professionals to repair my mistakes but when I heard that repair would cost almost same amount of money than building a new one the decision was simple, and I don't regret it. As a best fabricator in Estonia, they made me best of the best as you can see down below.

That's one big thing ticked off the list, but the real hassle just begun. Gearbox was a huge issue for this build. Only box what will line up with this T6 engine is Volvo M90 box which is very rare to find. So only reasonable option for me was to find some biimer box for this build. So, I went through all the forums, read several topic's, tried to find adapter plate to suit my need and literally spent several days to find solution until I came across the one & only BMW ZF zf gs6-53dz 6-speed box which is so far one of the strongest what BMW ever put to their cars.

Another few thousand pictures of bottom of the car, gearbox and engine & new 3D models were created to find correct location for engine & gearbox. Same models were also used to find out height of bellhousings because welding seemed best option for me. I bought the clutch setup suiting for my need, and according to this how correct bellhousing height. To modify it I had to salvage one Volvo atm gearbox (sorry if I don't remember exact model at the moment), cut both of them (BMW ZF & Volvo bellhousing) to the proper height & weld it together.

Those are just few things from the big list what has been done so far and sadly I can’t cover up everything within this Campaign. So plz let me know if you want to read more about this build- I can fire up the blog with all details if necessary!

Little back story of me....

Finished Estonian Nautical School @ 2013 as ship engineer, after that went through navy and graduated Estonian Maritime Academy afterwards in 2017. Have worked as ship engineer until beginning of 2021 when I finally decided to quit to build up my own business. Cars have a special place on my heart as far I can remember but real opportunity raised in 2013 when I got my hands on friends’ workshop with tools. Since then, I have improved myself to fab as the way I do. Quality is my main focus!

So, why do I need your help, I hear asking? So far, the project have tooked me over 3 years and this thing is still not rolling nor running. Main reason is money. All the development work takes ages and a lot of money. From development side I can thank my friend who have done major work from 3D drawings side but financially there is no-one to support my "Out of box" build. Another thing is time what I can spare for this build- still have to spend major of time on work. Also trying to build up company named Kasutamu Customst.

I also run instagram page under same name where you can follow some of my works done previously. Instagram covers up only scratch of what I have done on this build- if you want to see full photo library visit:

I must admit I'm not Project Bink'i kind of mad but most of my madness is inspired by them. :D

If you feel same way insane as I do than support would help! :D

Let’s make a world more exciting place to live!
