INVEST JUST £1 (0NE POUND) IN HOPE

I am booked to perform at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival in Scotland this weekend. Indeed, I was booked to perform my stage play FREEDOM on the 15th and 16th August and again on the 22nd, 23rd and 26th August 2017.

Shockingly, I was refused a UK visa. Yet my fellow cast members all received their visas.

I have made a fast track re-application for a visa, which should allow me to fulfill just one of our scheduled five dates - the last performance date of Saturday, 26th August at St John's Church, Princes Street, Edinburgh.

The Edinburgh Fringe actually ends on Monday 28th August and my fellow actors and I wish to add two performances (one on Sunday and another on Bank Holiday Monday) to make up for the performances that we have had to cancel.

To do this we need money to book another venue, hire equipment and promote the new shows. We need to raise £5,000.

To perform at the Edinburgh Fringe has been our dream. I cannot express how grateful my cast and I would be for your help.

Furthermore, your gift of just £1 (or more if you so choose) will give a great boost to African dramatic arts finding its audience internationally; as the Edinburgh Festival serves as a launch pad to the world.

Without your help, my cast and I will have traveled to the Edinburgh Fringe Festival to perform just one show instead of our scheduled five. It will certainly be worth it to do even just one show at the Edinburgh Fringe.

However, having traveled all the way from Africa, doing three shows makes much more sense.
