Ninna’s Scoliosis Operation

My sister, Ninna Locsin, has been suffering from severe scoliosis (upper curve at 72 degrees and lower curve at 74 degrees) ever since she was young. It has reached a point where the curvature of her spine has resulted into continuous difficulty in breathing and severe pain concentrated in the spine, resulting in multiple hospital visits in the past 3 years.

Our family has tried several methods to lessen her suffering (i.e., brace for scoliosis when she was younger, physical therapy, etc.). Sadly, such interventions can no longer improve her condition. The only way to help her is through a surgical intervention that we cannot afford. The cost of the surgery is estimated at Php. 900,000 (including hospital costs and rehabilitation) or C$22,000.

We humbly ask for your kindness to help us in helping my sister get to receive the treatment she needs. Ninna is a nursing student who, despite her health condition, has remained passionate in her pursuit to become a healthcare provider. Unfortunately, her scoliosis has been especially overwhelming that she had to withdraw from most of her subjects this term. She has cried herself to sleep so many times because of the pain caused by her spine, including how it has affected her life and academics. As her family, we wish her suffering would end so that she can enjoy life and pursue her dreams without limitations. We also don’t want that her situation to worsen.
