Last November 23, 2018 at 2AM, a sudden situation happened, we needed to bring our grandmother to the Emergency Room in the nearest hospital due to hard breathing. We waited 3 more hours before an ambulance from España arrived since that’s the only ambulance available with an apparatus needed for our grandmother.

At the hospital, a tube was immediately put on her mouth to her lungs because she cannot breathe by herself. From then, the doctor said she needed to be brought immediately to the ICU, if not, she’ll not survive.

At Dasmariñas Medical Center, she was admitted at the ICU and lab tests were immediately done. Results found that she has pneumonia, her kidney stopped functioning due to the water that fills up her body, there is an enlargement of the heart and the lungs is full of water making her difficult to breathe. That time she was only breathing 20% and 80% was the machine. The doctor said that he cannot promise anything but they will try to cure each of the organs one by one. If the organs cooperate then she has a chance to live but if not we have to be prepared. At this time, our family gathered for a decision - with a very heavy heart we don’t want our nanay to suffer anymore.

But miracles do happen. When we asked our nanay if she will fight, she nodded. Every time we asked her if she can do this, she will nod. So we didn’t give up. Now, our family is fighting together with our nanay and we are seeking help especially for financial needs.

As a result of unexpected and significant medical expenses, we are experiencing extreme challenges for her daily medicine and overall billing statement. If you could help us with whatever you can provide, we would be most appreciative.
