Nim’s BD Fund Raise for Mind Matters Foundation

Mauritius, where I was born and raised, is a small developing country on the south-east coast of Africa with 1.27 million people of diverse cultural backgrounds. As in many countries, mental health is heavily stigmatized in Mauritian society, which is a substantial barrier that prevents people from seeking appropriate treatment.

Many of my loved ones have or have had some sort of mental health problems, so for my birthday this year I'm raising money and awareness for the expansion of Mind Matters Foundation back home. It breaks my heart to think that many people do not get the attention and help required to overcome psychological difficulties for the simple reason that it is neglected.

Mind Matters will be the holistic one-stop-center for all those struggling to cope with mental health illness, as well as their families and carers. I've chosen Mind Matters because I truly support their vision, mission and goals, as well as being founded by my dear cousin Krishnee.

For my birthday this year, every dollar helps. If you're not in a position to donate I'd be so grateful if you could help share this initiative, to help Mind Matters build resources to help anyone suffering from mental health. <3
