Nick is running the Brighton Marathon on 17th April 2016.

He is training hard and enjoying the challenge, he may feel differently after completing his 26.2 mile marathon run!

Nick is raising funds to help a family friend of ours, Dave Batten. Dave is a father of 3, wife to Jackie, a son, son in law, brother and brother in law to many of our friends. Unfortunately 4 years ago, whilst working in the loft for a customer during a plumbing job, he was stung by a wasp, which caused an anaphylactic shock. This resulted in locked in syndrome and he is unable to do anything for himself anymore. He hasn’t been able to communicate with his family and friends either since the incident and we would like to help raise the funds to buy a specialist computer communication system (Microsoft Surface Pro3 with a separate switch button and smart box over £6k) for Dave to use. This will be life changing for them all, as Dave lives in a form of stasis and would finally be able to communicate with all around him. Any amount will make a difference to our target and I know that the Batten Family will really appreciate you taking the time to help.

THANK YOU.

He did it!

Update posted by NICK EDWELL at 12:12 pm

Nick and Ian completed the marathon yesterday in 4hrs 16mins, which is a monumental achievement considering his time out for injury. The day was made even more special by the surprise attendance of the Batten family including Dave at the end of the race. Perfect ending to a perfect day.
