Nick Alexander memorial fund

Dear Miguel, and everyone who has donated so far,

Wow. We, Nick's family, are truly overwhelmed by the unbelievable support we have been shown from across the world. We knew Nick had a lot of friends and had touched a lot of lives but we had no idea quite how many. To see donations from people who never met Nick but have been touched by his story alongside those from friends and colleagues in the music world is unbelievably touching and we cannot thank you enough for your kindness and support.

Miguel Benavides started this fund out of the goodness of his heart, from one touring brother to another. We have spoken to Miguel several times and I can assure you that all matters relating to the monies raised here are being handled by the correct legal and financial authorities, both here and in the US.



We are setting up a charitable trust in Nick’s name into which the monies will be transferred as soon as this is legally established. These things take time (days not weeks) and whilst this process has already begun, we hope you can appreciate that none of us expected to be doing this and our immediate priority has been to lay Nick to rest.



In the meantime, we have paused taking any further donations on the site until the UK Trust Fund has been established.



Tragically Nick died a young man and like many his age, gave little thought to the need to make provisions for his funeral, more than likely assuming that he still had plenty of time. This fund will be used to cover his funeral and memorial costs with the remainder to be held in the charitable trust.
