Think of a time when you were accused of something you didn't do.

Now imagine being punished for the rest of your life because of that lie. John Ortiz-Kehoe has been imprisoned since 1996, for a crime he didn't commit. I don't say this because I have a personal connection to John, I'm telling you this because I have personally seen the evidence to prove it.

Like most of you, it was easy for me to believe the story I was told about John. I mean, why would prosecutors and detectives lie? And who would make up such a horrific story? I watched the forensic shows and I read the newspaper articles but the more I thought about the case, the more I started to think that their story just didn't add up. I wanted to know more. So, I used the freedom of information act to obtain the actual trial transcripts and police reports. What i read was shocking. Nothing I had been told about the case was true.

Then I met John; got to know John; talked to people who've known John his entire life. The people I've met, who know John and who know everyone involved in the case; they've all told me the same thing: John shouldn't be in prison. And after learning the true facts of the case, I couldn't let him stay in prison.

That's why I'm here asking for your help. I want to prove that John is innocent. I want you to see what I've seen; hear what I've heard. I want to show the world that the story they've been told about John Ortiz-Kehoe, is incomplete and incorrect.

Every cent you donate will go towards hiring private investigators who is licensed to take statements from witnesses who were silenced then but are willing to speak up now and acquire the affidavits he need for his appeal, and to help with the mounting legal bills John's family has struggled to pay throughout his fight for freedom. I'm asking for your help, to raise the money we need to hire a PI. Please chip in and help him prove his innocence!
