Refugee not for profit group needs a new home

iNEED is a volunteer-led not for profit group based in South Wales whose main objective is to bring crisis support to people seeking refuge and to help create a fairly represented and safe environment for these people to live. We support asylum seekers and refugees who arrive in South Wales by offering help with doctors and lawyers appointments, English lessons and provide clothes and furnishings for new homes. We have organised excursions for refugees to see different areas of South Wales.

iNEED also collects and packs clothes, toiletries and food to send to the people of Syria and other countries that require aid. Volunteers and refugees work side by side, chatting, drinking tea and learn about new cultures, countries and traditions.

We currently store and pack these items in a unit in Caldicot but are hoping to raise enough money to rent a permanent building in Newport. We want our new home to become a place where refugees can seek help and meet new people and where local people can come to volunteer.

The funds that we raise will predominately go towards the rent of our new building. We will also use the money for materials, such as bags and tape so that we can continue to pack and send resources to those who need support.
