New Wheels for Ryan

Hello, my name is Sheri. My son Ryan is 12 years old and in the 6th grade. Ryan has cerebral palsy and cannot walk so he uses a powerchair for his mobility. We really need a new handicap van for him. The van we have now is over 22 years old, it's rusted, it has high miles, it's not reliable,it makes so many noises,(I can't even count how many different terrible sounds it makes) the dash is lit up like a Christmas tree, and my sons' wheelchair barely fits on the lift. He only has about an inch from the back of his chair to the edge of the lift (if that). Last summer Ryan had 12 surgeries on his legs to fix his tight muscles, his bones that were being pulled in the wrong directions due to tight muscles and tendons. They also had to fix his knee caps and his ankles which have plates and screws in them. Ryan will need another surgery this summer/fall to remove the plates and screws. 

We take Ryan to Saint Paul MN to the hospital there for these procedures (we live in Iowa, about 5 hours away) because thats were the specialists are that deal with kids and cerebral palsy. I am a single mom of Ryan and his brother and I stay at home and go to college. We live on a very limited income, which is why I can't afford a new van because they are so expensive, even for used ones. I'm not expecting a brand new handicap van, just one that is safe and reliable for my son. Any help anyone could give would be life changing for us. The last few trips made to MN we have had to borrow a vehicle and take his manual chair just to get there. I don't get to take Ryan many places due to the poor condition of the van we have now. Please help a single mom get a used handicap van for my son that we so badly need!!  Thanks for any donations!!!
