Nightingale - Lonely Melodies is a new web series that has been inspired by the Mortal Instruments & Shadow Hunter book series.

This web series is being created by a group of passionate actors & film makers who want to create a quality production supporting local talent, that will be suitable for submitting into various festivals.

  • Written & Directed by Calder Varg Fenwick
  • Produced by Leelyn Cruddas
  • Cinematography by Justin Hartwell (IMDB: www.imdb.com/name/nm3057913/ )
  • Experienced crew includes Racheal Leigh, Anthony Miller, Vicky Wanless, Natalia Melville, Toni McGhee, and Innana Sutherland
  • Featuring some of Brisbane's best talent: Olivia Kodette, Cate Dening, Jacob Moha, Emily Beardmore, and Paul Talbot.

You can find us on IMDB, Facebook & Instagram (links below).

All cast and crew working on this production are volunteering their time to be involved, however as with all film productions there are always costs involved and funding for small independent productions like ours is extremely difficult to source. We are therefore hoping to seek donations and/or sponsors to help us get this project off the ground to cover some of these costs.

These are the estimated initial costs we are looking at for our initial pilot episode:

  • Production Insurance (required to be able to film in some locations): $500-$1000 depending on insurance company, currently still getting quotes.
  • Character Costumes: $350
  • Props, Art & SFX Makeup Department: $350
  • Catering: $400 ($100/day x 4 days of filming)
  • Location fees: $550

For example: we have been looking for a suitable home to film in for one of our characters, and as we haven't had much success finding something through our network of friends & family, we may have to consider hiring a venue which is one location has quoted us $200.

So we have set our goal at $2,600 for the first episode which we are hoping to film in January.

We have decided not to make any 'special offers' or incentives as we feel it is too early to offer something (like merchandise) for a production that no-one knows too much about yet, however if you have a request as part of your donation / sponsorship, please message the Production Manager, Racheal, to discuss this further.

We will of course be more than happy to provide a Thank You credit for anyone that is able to donate, and we will be forever grateful for your assistance!!
