New start for HappyEnd AnimalRescue

HappyEnd AnimalRescue is a non-profit, volunteer based association, situated in Istria, Croatia; officially registered in 2010 and since then rescuing animals, mostly dogs and cats, but also wildlife.

During our years of work, we used an abandoned state property (former military zone), and at same time we were trying to get help from our local municipality to get permition from the government to use the land and become a legally registered shelter. This unsolved property issue made us uncapable to build and improve the conditions for both animals and volunteers. After 11 years of unfruitful negotiations, our shelter is closed and the time has come to find another solution.
We are now trying to collect money for our own property to be able to continue with our work, offering our animals and volunteers a secure and appropriate place to work, thrive and enjoy visiting. Our main goal is to build a permanent sanctuary for older and handicapped animals, that have very small or no chances to be adopted in family homes, or released back into the wild for wildlife. Once admitted in our sanctuary, they will have a forever place to be, providing each of them proper conditions that meet their special needs.

During our work in the past 11 years, we were recognized as a transparent organization, always open to the public, educating young people through school and pre-school visits, promoting volunteering and helping our community, and our intention is to continue to do so. We are a registered non-profit small association in Croatia.

At the moment we have several options for properties to buy, ranging from 11.000 E to 50.000 E, with a minimum area of about 5000 m2, with infrastructure already connected to or close to the property. Which one we will be able to buy depends entirely on the amount of money we can collect with your help.
All donations will go to our association bank account and the new property will be owned by the association, not by a private person. We will make sure that the property is used for reaching our goal – rescuing and helping animals in need. Most of the equipment needed for the animal enclosures and care we already have, thanks to our longtime donors and sponsors - including fences, tools for maintaining the outdoor environment and landscaping, aviaries, tools and materials for building, small wooden sheds, etc.

We are in dire need of our own property to ensure that we can continue with our mission to save animals from abuse and injury. Our hope is that you will take on this journey together with us and be a part of our new, safe beginning.
