We are a non-profit creative/cultural center (https://16neto.com/art-and-culture/ ) in Maputo, Mozambique. Our philosophy and focus is supporting the young talented artists in a changing and modernizing artistic scene, but whose market is still small economically, by creating platforms for the new generation of talents to express their art forms.
This campaign is setup to help fund “New Kids”: a musical performance with a storyline about five young artists in Maputo. Its objectives: to inspire young artists, to inspire parents, and to challenge the young creative scene in Mozambique to believe in its talent and push itself to keep elevating its standards.
This project brings together a group of young actors and musicians, coming together under the curation, direction and production of a young, experienced and talented team. The future voices of a generation.
The project needs funding to cover costs like rehearsal space, set design, material, actors musicians, director, and scriptwriter.
By being a part of this project, your donation will directly impact the production and indirectly impact the cultural scene in Maputo. Besides the immediate impact that the performance will have on the spectators, the project will impact the creative community in Maputo by galvanizing it, inspiring others to follow their dreams, mirroring the struggles they faced in their youth. In a cultural and creative scene that is evolving and maturing, we hope that this first-time project will inspire others to dare to create and implement similar concepts.

After 2 months of preparations and rehearsals, changes and fixes, ups and downs and ups, the New Kids performed on the 3rd of November in front of a great crowd, and "bowed" to loud applause.The huge positive feedback we received from this performance has further encouraged us to repeat it,. . . . .
New Kids is part of the Maputo Fast Forward festival
