The number of children with asthma and other breathing disorders is rising rapidly in Bali, Indonesia. For poor families, treatment is unaffordable. The Buteyko breathing method offers spectacular relief and reduction of the need for medication.
This coming October 22nd to 25th, 2016, the world's leading Buteyko practitioner, Patrick McKeown, is teaching a practitioner’s workshop in Sydney (http://breathingwell.net.au/practitioner-training). This is an exciting opportunity to send our Indonesian Naturopath Frederique to receive training with Patrick McKeown and come back to Bali to spread the method so that children can learn this easy self-healing technique.
Konstantin Buteyko, a Russian medical doctor, recognized the impact of faulty breathing on health. The Buteyko breathing method is spectacularly successful for asthma, it is also effective for chronic fatigue, stress, sleep apnea, panic attacks, hay fever, allergies, chronic bronchitis and many other breathing-related disorders. Medication reduction and safety of the Buteyko Method have been demonstrated in several published studies to date. It is recommended in the UK national asthma guidelines.
I am Kathy. I have been a severe asthmatic and had breathing problems all my life. 20 years ago, I watched a class of 26 asthmatics transform their breathing in 5 days with the Buteyko method: a radical new approach to asthma. I feel very passionate that no child should suffer from asthma, if I can help it. I have for the last 20 years tried to bring this method to Bali. I am very excited that now we have the opportunity to be able to have our own Indonesian teacher of this new approach so that asthmatic children can get relief from their symptoms and reduce their need for bronchodilators and corticosteroids.
We are very lucky that Frederique is able to attend the Buteyko practitioner’s workshop. Frederique is a naturalized Indonesian citizen, who has lived in Bali for the past 35 years and is fluent in the Indonesian language. She is a naturopath with 15 years experience in treating allergic patients. This method is such a breakthrough from the usual treatment for asthma that it needs an Indonesian to explain it to Indonesians and one that is used to discussing alternative approaches with Indonesian doctors.
After the course, Frederique will give talks to the community and conduct workshops for parents and children with asthma and breathing disorders.
Your contribution toward the cost of the course, airfares, visa and accommodation, will enable Frederique to attend the Buteyko workshop in Sydney, so that she can teach this very effective technique to individuals and groups of Indonesian patients.
Your wonderful assistance will help make this dream come true. Thank you so much!
