Cracked heating boiler during winter time - British Horological Institute ( BHI )
The old heating boiler in the cellar at the BHI has finally cracked its shell, leaving it irreparable, this situation for the BHI has naturally become demanding by this happening.
Watchmaking school since 1858
The BHI is an education institution which was established in 1858. It has been educating watchmakers from 1858 both in the UK and abroad to this day, - and will be doing so in many years to come - but is also an institution without government funding
The Museum of Timekeeping
The building houses the Museum of Timekeeping which was established in 1994, the museum cares for a unique collection of artefacts related to telling time
Europes most unique collection of watchmaker books
The BHI also owns one of Europes biggest collection of books on Horology and watchmaking, if not the biggest collection in Europe.
The BHI is still keeping open, but with the winter in progress, - the fact that the boiler has ceased to work makes the situation difficult
This fundraiser is exclusively made to help the BHI get a new heating boiler
Let us together make sure that none of the irreplaceable books or timepieces gets damaged - environmental control is important for these items, - and further assist in helping the BHI train watchmakers for the future to come.
