The primary mission of the basketball program is to provide an environment of organized competitive basketball to those who may not typically receive the opportunity. We believe that all things come through our Lord Jesus Christ. Through Christ’s blessings towards us, we wish to offer it forward as a blessing towards the community. Our areas of emphasis are team and community development, basketball skill development, life skills development, and overall character development. All of these areas of emphasis will be taught based on the foundation of the Gospel of Jesus Christ. Through this we hope to build future leaders of all neighborhoods of the city of San Francisco.
2013 Season Review
In our first year, we were able to take 14 athletes, representing six different San Francisco schools, and compete in AAU basketball tournaments throughout Northern California. By the grace of God and hardwork of the athletes, we were able to win four tournaments. We were able to offer a unique opportunity to travel to several different cities to participate in a highly competitive basketball environment. Most importantly, at the end of the season, we were able to offer a once in a lifetime experience for our athletes to attend a week long camping trip at Woodleaf, a YoungLife camp.
2014 Season Outlook
We are looking to build on our first year by continuing to offer unique opportunities to San Francisco's youth. We are aiming to expand our operation to two teams, reaching double the amount of individuals we reached in our first year. Our goal is to reach each one of our players with four main opportunities: to compete at a high level of basketball, to build relationships with fellow students, to be mentored by positive older male influences, and to be part of a family that has been founded on the Gospel.
