Hi there my names Jay, Over the last year i've been ripped off majorly by a local garage of mine which has caused endless stress/depression. I look after my niece most days and work a 16 hour job because of it.

I own a Audi TT 2001 which over the last year my local garage has screwed me over big time.

On August last year the clutch slave cylinder died which I had it recovered to my garage for them to fix, I was quoted £600 which they done but whilst it was in the garage I thought it would be wise to get the timing belt/pump/tensioner replaced... Here's where it goes downhill.

I was quoted £875 inc VAT/Labour which I didn't mind as it needed to be done.

In september the car started to make a knocking noise followed by a seized engine.

I went back to my local garage and they insisted that it was me that caused the damage and would want £2000 to rebuild the engine.

Instantly I took it to another reputable garage to look over it and as you can see from the photos of the timing belt that was what was found.

They quoted me £200 to fit a timing belt kit which I was fine to go ahead with as this garage included guarantee on their work. I get a phone call later in the day saying it needs more work then originally inspected.

The first garage that undertook the work had dropped a socket into the timing belt housing causing the belt to skip a tooth destroy the crank cog pulley and bending a valve.

I then got quoted 300 to take the engine apart to see what internal damage was done which seemed fine at first but after another £50 getting the head of the engine cleaned it turns out the cylinder head is cracked, 1 bent valve and a cracked exhaust valve.

Now i've been sat without a car for practically a year trying to fund a new engine but its hard with so little hours.

I'm currently walking to work with is also adding 3 hours onto my day. At the moment i'm trying to save 10-20 a week but it isn't going to well due to bills etc.

Which is why i'm asking for help from some of you lovely people.

I've been quoted £1500 for a reconditioned engine fitted including vat/labour.

If I can get anything towards it I would be great full.

Kindest regards

Jay Reed
