New Charity seeks 501(c)(3) status

Our organization "Soldiers of Fortune" is trying to gain fererally recognized 501(c)(3) tax status so donations to our organization can be tax deductable for donors.  

We are committed to helping ANY deserving individuals or groups who are not otherwise able be helped by an existing charitable organization.  The nature of the assistance that we provide to recipients is limited only by the wishes of the donor; our organization only asks for a small percentage of each donation to cover our overhead costs of getting those donations to their recipients.  Donors may also make donations to our general fund if they don't know of any specific person who needs assistance, those donations will be used to help those people we know of who are in need.

Our funding typically is extremly limited and currently we don't have the $450 we need for the application fee needed to submit our application for federally recognized 501(c)(3) status to the IRS.
