My name is Alex Bartoli and I was a professional musician in Venezuela for over twenty years as a studio owner, bassist, guitarist, audio engineer, producer, arranger, composer and performer. I studied jazz at Unearte, Universidad Experimental de las Artes, and performed throughout Latin America and in Europe. https://soundcloud.com/alexander-b-rtoli-adames
Unfortunately as the situation in Venezuela became a crisis, I had to flee my native country with nothing but what I could carry with me selling or leaving behind every musical instrument and production gear I owned. I chose to start a new life in Medellin, Colombia, but life for a refugee is very hard. I’m grateful for a job I work 12 hours a day, six days a week at a hostel hotel, however, it leaves me both unable to pursue my music nor earn enough to own the instruments necessary to do so.
My dream is simply to start again. To have what I once had to rebuild my career and my life with music. Specifically, my dream is to own my own studio again where I serve other artist's visions and to create my own compositions.
It is very expensive to have a studio, however, my dream is humble. I know just what I need to simply create what myself and potential clients need on a professional level without unnecessary equipment.
This fundraiser arose from a chance meeting with Diedrich Weiss and his wife Adriana Florez as they were guests at the hotel I work at. A special connection began as they learned of my situation, but more, as they learned of who I am inside. They took it upon themselves to produce the video and I’m deeply grateful for their effort and for their friendship.
My perseverance to remain positive and to help other people humbly and generously inspires me. I ask for your help to start again. Please take this opportunity to be a part of my dream to again serve other people through music and express my talent.
May your actions and thoughts resonate into beautiful music yet expressed.
