Never Give Up Hope

“Never Give Up Hope” is a campaign for myself and my furbaby (Hope) to get back to the United States and do some much-needed paperwork!

I was lucky enough to become cat-mama to a grey tabby I aptly named Hope. She has been with me through all of my South African adventures – my little partner in crime you could say. Needless to say, this campaign has a double meaning…. Never let anyone destroy your dreams, or let that little bit of hope die out, perseverance is key. Furthermore, keep the people by your side along the way that have provided a support system during your journey to greatness. Hope has done this for me, in both aspects, and I will not leave her behind.

6 years ago, I embarked on a journey that many people were displeased about – but I didn’t let that stop me. My childhood dream was to live in Africa amongst the wildlife and put all my efforts into the preservation of big cats, specifically leopards and lions. I did the unthinkable. I packed a bag and off I went, into the unknown. During this time, I have experienced the entire realm of human emotion. I have witnessed the most stunning sunsets, smelled the breath of a lion, driven through landscapes people only dream of, lived in extreme highs and lows of wealth and poverty, and everything in between, and I’m not done yet.

6 years later, and I am still trying to chase this ghost I call a “life plan”. Government rules and regulations are, however, putting a wrench in my plans. In order to succeed and carry on striving to obtain my goal, I need to return to the USA and submit new applications. This is a very expensive and time-consuming task; therefore, I am reaching out for help. All-in-all I’m expecting about $8,000 in expenses for travel to and from USA, import and export permits for Hope, visa application fees, etc., and any support would be greatly appreciated.
