Nepal Project

Despite some progress in poverty reduction in recent years, Nepal remains one of the poorest countries in the world. About 80 per cent of Nepal's people live in rural areas and depend on subsistence farming for their livelihoods. Household food insecurity and poor nutrition are major concerns in these areas, where about half of children under five years of age are undernourished. Most rural households have little or no access to primary health care, education, safe drinking water, sanitation or other basic services.

Karunamaya Foundation Nepal is a non-political, non-sectarian, non-governmental, non-profit-making and humanitarian organization that believes that children and youth are the wealth of a nation. Its project is to support children and young people to become independent contributing towards the socio-economic development of the nation by improving their access to formal and/or vocational education and personal development.

I will join the team of KFN for a three months volunteering project and I awill personally make sure every signle donation will contribute to support the rural community in Makaising and the education of the kids there.
