Need your benevolent heart for my husband

Dear family, friends, and kind strangers,

We are raising much needed funds for my husband Archie’s urgent medical treatments.

He has been in and out of the hospital since April 2017 due to bone and thyroid problems. On December 5, 2017, he underwent total thyroidectomy surgery at Notre Dame Hospital in Baguio City, Philippines, and the biopsy revealed a stage 4 papillary thyroid carcinoma with bone metastases.

Two weeks after discharge, Archie’s postoperative wound got infected and he was readmitted to Baguio General Hospital where he was managed medically for 5 days. We went home last December 27, 2017.

But our battle does not stop there. Further management for his case includes the following:

1. Radioactive iodine (RAI) therapy is already due on January 15, 2018 at Saint Louis University in Baguio City. This urgent procedure will cost around Php 63,000 ($US 1, 260) According to his oncologist this should be done as scheduled without delay.

2. Bone Medicine infusion monthly for at least 1 year which already started on December 7, 2017, and is now again due on January 7, 2018 requiring P12,000 ($US 240 per session (or at least P120,000 ($US 2,880) more to complete this treatment)

3. Oral maintenance medications he takes at home that reach P 500 per day ($US 10.00) At present, we are just staying at my sister-in-law's house in Manaoag because we cannot afford to pay rent and sustain other needs of our family. Our resources and other financial assistance received have already been depleted. This is in spite of the help that we get from our family, friends, and our local congregation. They have been there assisting us, from when my husband's symptoms appeared, to when even our son Akio Miko, just recently, got sick and passed away at only 9 years old due to encephalitis, and up to present as my husband continues with his health battles. Now, we are left with no more options but to seek again for further help.
