Last September I moved from my home to my daughter's home for economic and health reasons. Unfortunately upon delivery of the contents of my home I did not have enough funds to cover the cost of the move. The moving company agreed to withhold some of the major furniture items with the idea that they would release the items upon payment.

As luck would have it days after the move, on September 5, I fell and broke my hip...requiring surgery and months of healing and rehabilitation. The end result being I could not and have not been able to return to work. I am 70 year old and was working part-time as a cashier. I was only making $8.40 an hour but that income would have enabled me to reclaim my furniture. And being on a fixed income, I've not been able to save up funds to pay the bill.

As it happens I've received a letter informing me that my furniture is now scheduled to be auctioned off on April 6 to pay for the initial moving cost balance and the cost incurred for storing the furniture all this time unless I can come up with the funds by April 5. I've been sleeping on a mattress on the floor (that's it in the picture) since I've no bedroom furniture (it takes me a good 10-15 minutes to get up from it with my hip which has set my recovery back considerably) which is part of the inventory along with my dining table and chairs and various other items.

I've worked hard my whole life, since high school, even as a single mom, to buy things that are mine. Not my ex-husband's, or his mom's, or my daughter's, but mine. And now I may lose those things forever. I know they're just things but they represent my life and what I was able to do for myself and my daughter alone, with no help, and it breaks my heart that those pieces of my life may be gone. And facing some serious health issues (I was recently diagnosed with cancer and have my first oncologist appointment on April 4 - please pray for me), I probably won't have the 10 or 15 or more years left that I thought I would. I would love to have my things around me now, to enjoy and appreciate.

Ideally I would like to be able to pay the entire bill of $4600 and get EVERYTHING back but all I'm asking for is something so I can go to the auction and possibly buy back some of the pieces that are most important to me. Like my BED. My daughter and her husband are raising a family and just getting by so they are unable to help me. I drive a 2000 Jeep and have no investments or credit cards to utilize. My furniture is all I have. I would just like the chance to salvage some of my belongings. I now have ONLY A COUPLE OF DAYS to pull it together. Can you help me?
