Hello, my name is Taha (I'm 24 years old) and I have gathered the courage to request for help.

It all started when I was 5 years old, I was diagnosed with Cataract in my right eye, my parents took me to an eye specialist who checked my eyes and said that they need to perform a Cataract Surgery.

During the surgery, the cloudy lens wasn't completely removed and some of its fragments (Retained Lens Fragments or Cataract pieces) were left in the eye, they also told my parents that the new lens they put was misplaced, so they need to do another surgery for that, but due to financial issues I never went for another surgery.

After a week or two slowly the pressure in my right eye increased due to (Retained Lens Fragments), and I was experiencing severe pain in my right eye from increased pressure, most of the time my right eye was bloody red and the tears wouldn't stop due to inflammation.

My parents took me to the same doctor, he checked and give an Eye Drop to my parents and instructed them to put 2-3 drops in my right eye for 3 weeks, using the Eye Drops I was relieved from the pain due to decreased pressure but at the time my right eye give up on me, (I can't remember when and how it happened but I was unable to see anything from my right eye).

I told my parents about this and they immediately took me to another eye specialist who told them that they need to run some tests and check what is the cause, after the tests they told my parents that the reason I was suddenly unable to see anything from my right eye was due to Retinal Detachment, and they also told my parents that they need to perform the surgery for the Retina.

But due to financial issues, I never went through a surgery for (Retained Lens Fragments) or Retinal Detachment, since that day I am blind in the right eye.

It has been 19 years since my retina has been detached and the doctor said that I should undergo treatment as soon as possible because there is a 40% chance my left eye is also gonna go through retinal detachment because of the symptoms, like sudden light flashes, increased number of floaters and blurred vision.

A typical Pars Plana Vitrectomy costs roughly $4500-7000 per eye.

Furthermore, an ever-present feeling of doom always lingers in my mind that if I lose both of my eyes I will never be able to do what I want to do, not being able to exercise and play sports is another thing but not being able to work is another level of pain and suffering that will make me miserable.

I am requesting for your help, anything you can donate from the bottom of your heart will help me.

Thank You!
