Need Help To Buy Camera Equipment

Hi!

I am Raymir Dimabuyu, co-founder of a startup website Gigshive - an event listing platform here in the Philippines.

Gigshive was bootstrapped with our own blood, sweat, and pockets.

I am here to ask for your help, to help us fund our equipment.

We at Gigshive do not only list the events on our website - we tend to come, experience, and cover the events on-hand for our viewers and audiences to see.

When we started early this year, we do not have any equipment at all. No camera to use to cover the events, what we do is we ask our friends if we can borrow their camera even just for the day, most of the time they would let us borrow, but that is not always the case. It was hard, owning a website like this and not having enough resources.

Fortunately, I was able to buy a low-cost action camera - a Xiaomi yi action cam. Yes, we are using an action camera to cover events day or night. Very limited features but this is all we have, and we still borrow camera from friends if possible. It was hard saving money to buy a DSLR, but if you want to stick to this kind of idea, you must do it. After a few months, I was able to buy my first DSLR, a preloved camera with the very basic kit. The happiness it brought me, having a DSLR. But in time, as we go along various events, you would notice the limitation of the basic kit. Comparing our equipment to the expensive and much better equipment of other people who covers the event.

We wanted to give back to our partners, the promoters who believed and considered us to cover their event. We wanted to give them the best images possible for their event. And for our audiences, we also wanted to give them the best images for them to see.

I am seeking help for our equipment funding. From photographers out there, media people who are also covering events, and business enthusiasts like us, or people who sympathize our works. We ask for your help.

This funding would help us get more equipment or enhance our equipment. It may help us, and our startup grow as we cover more and more events.

And we might not know, with your help we might expand Gigshive, and you'll see us in your country covering events. :)
