Hello, my name is Erick, a loving son to his mom, a kind-hearted "kuya" to his cousins, and a good friend to everyone who knows me. Last 2014, I lost vision on my right eye followed by blurring of vision on my left. With time and money not on my side at that moment, I know I'm doomed. Motivated by the expectation coming from my mom and the respect of my cousins, I persevered, roll with the punches whilst struggling with my vision impairments. Worked hard as I could, finally got the chance to visit a doctor and get a new set of eyeglasses. At first, it was a relief seeing the world with clarity again, but this time, seeing just the half of it. Suffered all these within the coming years, as I took off from my previous job and venture into a new one. I never stopped working ever since I left the province, supporting my mom, my grandmother and my cousins, in every possible way I can provide their financial needs. So, fast forward to 2018, this was the time where I first experience an excruciating pain on my right eye. Again took my time, and went to see a doctor. This time, it was different, he told me that I have a lazy eye. Okay. And after that, there's no medication prescribed or any intervention that I need to perform to ease the pain or avert the deteriorating condition of my right eye. Many times, in different occasions, this happened. And I just lull myself to sleep to ease the pain every time it happens. And here comes 2020, a year full of promise, as told by the psychics and Feng Shui masters. However, at the start of the year, everything went south. Covid-19, a possible World War III, Australian wildfire, Kobe Bryant and daughter Gigi's death, etc. Here I am, expecting things to get better day by day, and all of a sudden greeted with an unfortunate news. My right eye, was diagnosed with Phacolytic Glaucoma and Retinal Detachment. In shock and awe, I'm out of words soon after the initial and follow up checkups, which I heard from my specialist who examined my right eye's condition. In my own thoughts, I am nothing but a humble, and hard-working citizen, whose efforts and dreams are only to make my family's life a little bit better, for me to acquire such illness. Now, with that being said, I am knocking into your generous hearts for any amount you can donate, which would be of great help for me to undergo this designated procedure. Thank you in advance, and may God bless your kind hearts.
