Hi my name is Rommel de Gracia Yadao, 51 years old, married with 3 kids, living with my parents at 5 Opal St. Culiat Quezon City Philippines. I was diagnosed with hypertension and Type 2 Diabetes on my early years. On June 12, 2012 I was diagnosed with stage 5 Chronic Kidney Disease and has to undergo Hemodialysis treatment 3 times a week. On June 2019 my toe was amputated because a tiny wound did not heal. On July 24, 2019 my left lower leg was amputated because my left toe that was previously amputated did not heal either. The reason for this is because one of the major artery supplying blood and oxygen on my lower left leg has been blocked due to calcification. What my surgeon did is that he cut my left leg a little above where the blocked artery is found and now everything is fine.
I’m the breadwinner of the family doing home-based online jobs. The salary I am getting is only a fraction of our monthly expenses on food, medicines, dialysis treatments, monthly laboratories, transportations, medical procedures, doctor’s fees, water and electric bills and others. My family and some of my relatives and friends are helping me out to cope up with the expenses. My wife could not work for she take’s care of me and our kids. She’s also assisting me during dialysis treatment. Being an amputee confined to a wheelchair, I am restricted to do the things I previously do without any assistance from my wife or kids. Because of this there are times I am suffering from depression and anxiety. To help my family and make myself more useful having an artificial leg (Prosthetics) will help me a lot being an effective father, an employee and less burden to my family..
